A quick follow up to
last Tuesday’s post about Tim Pfeister’s hop yard in the Town of Algoma. This past weekend, Pfeister, family, and friends – 15 people in all – hand picked the yard clean. The 62 plants harvested took approximately 68 man hours to pick and netted a total of 77 pounds of hops. I can’t confirm this, but that may be the largest harvest of hops in Winnebago County in 125 years. It was an event worth remembering. Here’s a few shots from the Saturday and Sunday harvest.
